prop making craft camp (for ages 7-18)
Ever wonder how props for theatre productions are planned and made? CCT's create and craft camp takes student artists through the process of brainstorming, designing, and building theatre productions style props. Props for this camp will fall under the theme "castle magic" and include prop items that may be used in mid-evil, fairy-tale, or fantasy themed productions.
A good portion of this camp will be spent on individual creation, so an ability to work on your own (with occasional assistance from instructors) is preferred. Students will be assigned to work-tables according to age and will be able to work to their skill level, with older participants having more advanced prop options. By the camp completion, participants will have created a minimum of five different theatre props that they can take home with them.

Puppets are growing more common in theatre productions everywhere! They help portray characters that humans can't always accurately embody and keep animals safe from performing in on-stage enviornments that can be unpredictable and tiring. Behind every amazing puppet you see on stage is a designer who brought the puppet to life! During this five day camp, participants will have the opportunity to explore different types of puppetry as well as plan, design and create their own puppets.

stage tumbling intensive
If you've seen one of CCT's musical productions, you've likely noticed one (or more) actors using stage tumbling as a form of entertainment. Stage tumbling includes gymnastic stunts like handstands, cartwheels, summersaults, back walkovers, and more! During this four day intensive, CCT's tumbling coach (Amy LaVallie-Rose) will introduce participants to basic tumbling moves; teaching them the fundamentals to perform the moves safely. New tumblers can expect to learn the basics of tumbling for the stage and gain practice in performing the moves. Intermediate and advanced tumblers can work to perfect moves in a fun and casual environment.
Classes will be held at CastleCorner (431 3rd St. Farmington, 55024)
Participants may choose to register for one session, or both.
IMPORTANT: A minimum of five students are required in each class in order to run the class. If the minimum number of students is not reached the classes will be combined into one class that meets from 9:00am-Noon each day.
